For me, playing music allows me to enter a meditative state, where I can turn off the analytical and logical part of my brain that’s always churning. For me, playing music allows me to enter a meditative state, where I can turn off the analytical and logical part of my brain that's always churning. Playing music allows me to be entirely present with a singular focus on just being and just feeling. Music has been my outlet for pain, loss and heartache. Sharing my music is really sharing a snapshot or a window into my personal musical therapy sessions. It's a way of sharing a part of me I haven't always been able or willing to share. It's a way of letting people know me and if it means something to others then that is just the gravy on top.
